86th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

The much awaited annual Thanksgiving Day Parade from Macy's is underway. The parade route starts at 77 Street and Central Park West at 9am in the morning. It would surely be a spectacular event with various entertainment ranging from marionettes, beautiful floats and several live performances. Of course, the main attractions of the Parade are the giant balloons that would travel through 2.5 miles of the route through the streets of New York.

This year, from the kick-off at Manhattan's 77th Street and Central Park West, the spectacular parade will continue on to Columbus Circle. It would then turn at Central Park South and march along Central Park South, turning to Sixth Avenue. It will then proceed to 59th Street through 34th Street. The final stop of the parade is at Macy's Herald Square.

Starting at 1924, the yearly parade is now part and parcel of American culture. Hundreds if not thousands of people line the streets of New York to witness this happy event, the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade 2012.
